Subsidies

GENERALLY ONLY WITH FINANCIAL LEASES

Companies and professionals in certain sectors of activity may benefit from non-reimbursable financial aid. In most cases, only financial leases entitle them to these subsidies.

NON-REIMBURSABLE FINANCIAL AID

Subsidies can be granted by bodies and institutions such as:
  • French administrative districts (communes),
  • French departments,
  • French regions,
  • the state,
  • the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF),
  • French decentralized state-run authorities,
  • regional agencies for industry, research and the environment

METHOD OF ALLOCATION

As a general rule, this non-reimbursable financial aid is only released once a finance contract has started. The subsidy is usually paid to the lessor, who passes it on to the lessee:
  • either by reducing the amount of the instalments paid for the rest of the contract,
  • or by immediately paying out the equivalent of the total subsidy.
    The option lies with the method of allocation of the subsidy. It can only be immediate if initially specified in the subsidy allocation convention.
